Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Teaching.com’s Nitro games brand is seeking a 2D Artist/Animator to join our team! You will be responsible for creating final game-ready assets for vehicles, stickers, trails, characters, tracks, and many other items. You’ll work on our flagship product, Nitro Type, producing content for mobile and desktop. This position is offered on a full-time and remote basis.

Responsibilities

  • Produce compelling digital assets and animation for our games by working closely with the rest of the development team
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to develop unique assets which fit the style established
  • Create all required assets including vehicles, characters, icons, logos, menus, and backgrounds
  • Create engaging 2D animation including vehicles, stickers, trails, menu effects and the like, within design constraints
  • Participate in planning meetings to determine future content
  • Take verbal concepts through to final execution of artwork
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to develop unique assets which fit the style established

Requirements

  • 4+ years of creating 2D game art (preferably in the web or mobile gaming space)
  • 3+ years of 2D animation
  • Expert working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Animate CC, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Ability to set priorities for yourself and others, as well as manage the progress of work
  • Proactive work ethic along with the ability to effectively give direction and communicate solutions to problems
  • Strong background in multiple 2D disciplines
  • Experience taking features from concept to final in-game art
  • Strong understanding of the principles of animation
  • Strong understanding of perspective, composition, character design, colour theory, visual effects, and lighting
  • Task driven, self-motivated and proactive
