Nathan James is looking for a Business Analyst who will quickly become a key member of our Product Management Division, QA Group and help ensure the quality of our brand new, API-driven, web-based ERP system that's tailored to meet the needs of our rapidly growing eCommerce business. We are looking for someone who isn't scared to get their hands dirty, will roll up their sleeves and be a significant contributor to ensuring our Software Division delivers an ERP system that exceeds the quality expectations of its users - your colleagues.

The role is part of a growing Software Function that includes Product Management and Software Development Divisions. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Group Lead which is part of the Product Management Division.  

Your primary areas of responsibilities will be to ensure software successfully meets the requirements and is free of defects. You will bring your understanding of software users in the real world with ERP or Supply Chain business applications to ensure that quality is delivered from design to post-implementation.

You will be responsible for generating test cases designed around user stories that will also support our growing automation test suite; building the data sets required for testing project deliverables; executing the test plans; identifying bugs and reporting recreate-steps to engineering while contributing to the development of user documentation.  

As needed, you will need to engage with outside organizations to coordinate end to end and integration test scenarios.  Additionally, you will be asked to diagnose issues that arise within our regular business operations as surfaced up by our users.

Additional areas of responsibility include using, monitoring and testing of various API integrations that automate data flows and reporting systems that support day to day operations and decision making support systems used by the various Divisions within Nathan James.

We are looking for an intellectually curious, well rounded, and experienced Business Analyst with strong analytical skills. You love complex challenges, you’re driven by problem solving and delivering solutions with the utmost quality and you abhor defects. 

You must have 1+ years of experience working with enterprise applications at scale, with an emphasis on ERP or Supply Chain systems (examples include, but are not limited to, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Epicor). 

You are passionate about technology and understanding why, how and what software applications are solving for and communicating your understanding clearly.  You are driven, and enjoy working in small team environments. You thrive on taking ownership for your areas of responsibility. You are energetic and intentional about fostering a positive work environment. 

The ideal candidate is familiar with the business value behind ERP modules like accounting, inventory management, sales, purchasing, warehouse and is curious about and quick to understand the technology that underlies those modules.  Troubleshooting and searching for the answer to “why” the system is working as it is are strong attributes. 

You can work autonomously, with focus, and are extremely clear in communicating issues back to stakeholders, so the best possible business decisions can be made. You don’t require constant hand-holding, but you’re not afraid to speak up when requirements aren’t clear or they require additional context and details. 

This is a remote role, since we are a remote company! You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, coffee shops or in Montreal. While we currently have an office in Montreal, you should be comfortable working remotely—most of the company does! That hinges on effective writing, self-discipline, and comfort with open communication.
