A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR DEVOPS / SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER (SRE) / CLOUD APPLICATION DEVELOPER
As our DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Cloud Application Developer, you lead the DevOps methodology for the deployment of the new version of our flagship product on a cloud platform. Enthusiastically, you participate in the design, development, and deployment of a scalable application running on a public cloud infrastructure such as AWS. With attention to detail, you create and manage application infrastructure as code. On a regular basis, you create backup and restoration processes and test the recovery of those backups.
You configure a CI/CD pipeline to orchestrate provisioning and deployment. In order to validate IAC, you write unit tests and integration tests. You are passionate about discovering defects and improving the code quality. In order to monitor system health and reliability in supporting high uptime requirements, you automate and test infrastructure in cloud providers with Terraform, Amazon, CloudWatch, Grafana, and EFK. You leverage modern operations processes for application support and maintenance.
Due to consistent logging and monitoring, you are able to provide meaningful data. Your strong interpersonal skills are also essential as you regularly collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to maintain customer satisfaction. You also provide API development support to the Application Team where needed. Proactively, you evaluate new technologies and keep abreast of trends that may impact our company. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR REMOTE DEVOPS / SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER (SRE) / CLOUD APPLICATION DEVELOPER
- 3+ years of experience
- Infrastructure as code experience for cloud providers, delivering reproducible cost-effective solutions with Cloudformation or Terraform
- Strong operational experience, preferably on a high traffic application
- Cyber-security background and understanding
- Ability to identify process defects and modernize operations workflows
- Ability to enhance site reliability
- Ability to leverage Kubernetes or other container orchestration mechanisms to ease business processes
- Practical understanding of REST API’s and how to build them
- Understanding of engineering best practices including release management, configuration management, cloud provisioning tools, and best practices
- Experience working remotely
Being AWS Solutions Architect certified or on the path to certification in some manner of cloud computing is preferred. Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, RDS, Mysql, Agile, GitLab, or healthcare technology would be very helpful! Are you highly motivated? Do you take pride in your work?
