lead integrations engineer jobs

Nathan James is looking for a Lead Integrations Engineer to join our team and help us accelerate our API-driven automation projects as well as a technical leader to oversee a team of engineers and ensure best practices against feature releases of an ERP System.

People-first company, design-first home.

We are a design-first, home furnishing company focusing on the habits of urban dwellers and first time home buyers. We pride ourselves on the best in class customer happiness, providing the highest possible quality products that are affordable for the majority and assembly that isn't dreadful.

As a people-first company, we understood from day one the importance of being fully distributed. We encourage everyone to work in whichever manner that helps them perform their best.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A person who will be happy, fulfilled, and successful in this role and as a remote employee at Nathan James is someone who values life and identity outside of work.

In this role, you will develop, document, and test automation projects requested of the Integrations Team. These projects are critical to our growth as they enable fast, efficient, and automated integrations of systems to support complex tasks. Additionally, these integrations offer extended functionality to our ERP system impacting and enabling the entire company. We empower the teams through automation and self-servicing of Key Performance Indicators that they need to make timely and data-informed decisions.

This is a technical role that requires an understanding of the software development lifecycle, experience using Python, and accessing APIs, performing data manipulation logic and operating within MySQL (or similar RDBMS). Some experience with automated testing/TDD principles is preferred.

While it is not required, it is preferable and will be given extra weight, if you have experience working with ERP systems particularly in an eCommerce organization.

ABOUT US

We have a rhythm to our work and a very low turnover rate — we have yet to have a single team member opt out. Your voice matters to us. We make change from fresh perspectives and appreciate new viewpoints, so you should feel comfortable speaking up about your values and goals.
We’re ready for the ongoing work that goes into building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best work of your career. Our values, workplace and our benefits are designed to support a sustainable, healthy relationship with your work. Our operating values provide the framework we use in building a healthy, resilient organization.

You can expect a mindful onboarding process with ramp-up and time to learn. You can expect a team that listens, and to be heard. You can expect to give and provide direct feedback. You can expect to work with good people. You can expect to be counted on. You can expect to do your best work and build a career here.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Team Lead, or the equivalent and experience working in a product-driven environment. You will have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in developing code to interact with web-based applications. You are very comfortable with an API-first environment.

You have multiple years of experience working in Python, MySQL, and REST APIs; experience working with DevOps workflows and interacting with enterprise applications. Experience developing on multi-tenant web applications is highly preferred. Additionally, it is preferable, but not required, that you have experience working with software that manages physical goods. At a minimum, you must have an interest in and knowledge of the eCommerce landscape.

You can lead team members in a calm manner and provide technical direction and guidance. You have worked in agile development and can easily prioritize your work according to effort and impact. You are looking to get your hands dirty day to day and help your team through difficult issues.

You are passionate about technology and automation, you are driven, and enjoy working in small team environments. You thrive on taking ownership of your areas of responsibility. You are energetic and intentional about fostering a positive work environment.

You love complex challenges, you’re driven by problem-solving and delivering solutions with the utmost quality, and you abhor defects. If you don’t know how to do something you use existing documentation and your resourcefulness to dive-deep and figure it out. As such, you are able to work autonomously, but know when to pull in other stakeholders. This means you’re not afraid to speak up when requirements aren’t clear or they require additional context and details. You recognize that Product Management will define what we do, while you and your team will define how we do it.

This is a remote role, since we are a remote company! You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, or coffee shops. That hinges on effective writing, self-discipline, and comfort with open communication.

BENEFITS & PERKS

Our benefits are all aimed at supporting a life well-lived both at work and away from work.
