The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects at East Coast Catalyst (ECC) to ensure successful completion. Projects at ECC consist primarily of websites, mobile apps and other digital marketing-driven initiatives. The Senior Project Manager’s responsibilities include ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, while meeting client expectations. The Senior Project Manager has to keep the team’s attention focused on achieving goals and meeting deadlines by clearly communicating expectations and a sense of urgency when required. The Senior Project Manager will interface with all disciplines in the agency, and should inspire and promote action with all players.
This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from inception through to post-mortem, working with all agency disciplines to ensure projects are delivered successfully
- Preparation of project plan, scope and schedule based on sales handoff
- Apply strategic thinking to all engagements
- Manage scope creep
- Lead and mentor other Project Managers on the team
- Evaluate and refine ECC’s project management processes to align with industry best practices
- Work proactively to make the team aware of milestones and deadlines
- Define and manage projects in ActiveCollab, ECC’s client-facing project management and online collaboration platform
- Act as the owner and expediter of the task list by managing requests, proactively communicating with all stakeholders and ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded
- Work closely with the COO to forecast and prioritize workload such that resources are aligned with project needs
- Maintain resource time allocations and give status reports weekly (internal and external)
- Ongoing prioritization of client goals under a retainer structure
- Schedule and lead internal and client-facing project meetings
- Communicate and escalate project issues and risks as appropriate
- Assist production team with tasks/deliverables
- Manage client’s website content in CMS and other tools, add (or oversee) content in website build projects
- Support the CEO & COO in sales activities
- Write work orders and retainer agreements
- Manage approvals with clients
- Collaborate with digital marketing partners and client teams
Requirements:
- 4+ years project management experience in a fast-paced, digital environment
- Experience and familiarity with the creative and web/app development processes
- Strategic thinker who is confident leading teams and projects
- Strong problem solver with organizational and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable to change and tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to successfully manage multiple client assignments of different sizes/types
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling tools
- Wordpress & Drupal experience (other CMS experience also a plus)
- Experience with digital marketing, account management and Asana is a plus
