As always, we're mainly looking for the right attitude rather than an exact set of experiences.
Location
We're based in a fun, open office in Moorgate, London. We're accepting candidates that are in a timezone of GMT+-2.
About eola
Firstly, check out eola.co 😍
Ultimately, we're a VC-funded startup trying to help businesses in the activities/experiences industry come online and grow by increasing revenue and reducing admin.
Whilst it might look like we're primarily a marketplace, at least 95% of our functionality is behind the scenes, making it easier for activity centres to run their day-to-day.
We try and be very open and transparent at all times. Everyone in the team has pretty much unrestricted access to same information, data and analysis that the founders have. We want to try and build the company with happy employees, and I think I'm fairly safe in saying that so far it's going pretty damn well!
Our Stack
- Rails 6
- React/Apollo/Next.js
- RSpec/JEST
- PostgreSQL (SQL used directly a decent amount for some advanced queries)
- Heroku/Vercel
The Role
We're looking for a self-starter that shares our values when it comes to code; high-quality and robust.
The successful candidate will serve as a font of knowledge to the growing Rails team, levelling the entire tech team up, whilst ensuring we employ best practices and processes.
We have clear goals, but will take a hands-off approach on the day-to-day stuff; we're looking for someone we can trust to deliver great stuff reliably. That being said, if you need any help, we can sit down together and pair up. Whatever produces the best results! 😌
Being hire number 5 in the tech team, you'd obviously have a clear growth trajectory; growing with us as the team grows. On that note, we've just closed a large seed round.
We have some (genuinely) fun challenges when it comes to complex application logic, and for candidates that are particularly interested in databases, we have some pretty fancy queries that we'd love extra help with. As the team grows, you'll inevitably end up with more bandwidth to spend time on the specialism that interests you.
